FAQs Babysitters & Nannies
Does TNN take any of my earnings and how am I paid?
Your hard-earned money is all yours! TNN does not take any of your earnings. We charge a fee to match you with families, but once the match is made, the job and family are yours to work with long-term. You'll receive the family's contact details to communicate directly with them.
How do I get started?
Once we’ve matched you with a job, you’ll receive a payment link from us. Once payment is completed, we’ll send you the family’s contact information so you can get started!
What is the minimum age to apply?
You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
Do I need a WWC (Working With Children Check) and Police Check?
While it’s not a strict requirement, having a WWC and police check can improve your chances of getting jobs. It’s highly recommended to provide these checks to increase your chances of success.
What should I do if I’m not comfortable with a family?
It’s important to do your due diligence before accepting a job. If you feel uncomfortable or unhappy, you can request a refund from us. We are a job-matching service, not an agency, and we don’t provide 24/7 customer support. If you feel unsafe, contact emergency services immediately by calling 000.
What should I do if I’m sick and can’t make it to a job?
If you’re unable to work due to illness, it’s your responsibility to contact the family directly. Unfortunately, you won’t be eligible for a refund if you cancel last minute, as the job can’t be reassigned to another carer in time.
Do you store my information for future jobs?
No, we do not store your information. You’ll need to apply for each job individually by referencing the job number. If you’re applying for multiple jobs, please enter all relevant job reference numbers in your application.
What should I do if I no longer want to take on a specific job type?
You can cancel your interest by going to the "Cancel Job" page and submitting the job reference number.
How does job selection work?
It's first-come, first-served! If you take too long to respond to a job posting, the position may be taken by someone else. We update on our instagram with live updates whether the job is filled or not.
What if I need to cancel a job after accepting it?
If you need to cancel a job you’ve already been assigned, please give the family as much notice as possible. The cancellation must be communicated directly with the family.
What happens if I fail to show up for a job?
Failing to show up for a job will result in being banned from applying for future jobs through us.
What qualifications do I need?
We encourage you to list any relevant certifications such as First Aid, Cert III, or a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. While we don’t verify your certificates, parents are responsible for conducting their own due diligence. We recommend obtaining a Working With Children Check, although we do not collect police check information. However, you can consent to a police check if the family requests one.
