For families

How we work

The Nannying Network is a boutique matching service connecting families with local nannies and babysitters. Finding a nanny made simple.

Our fee structure is straightforward: a one-off advertising fee to list your role, and a one-off finder's fee once a match is made. No ongoing fees, no commission, and you stay in control.

01

Getting started

New to The Nannying Network? Start by registering your family, new families create a profile in just a few minutes then submit a request for what you are after. Returning families jump straight to submitting a new request from log in, no need to reenter your details.

Babysitting

$45

Flat advertising fee. Finder's fee only once you confirm your match.

Nanny

$99

Flat advertising fee regardless of days per week.

Advertising fees are nonrefundable. A separate finder's fee applies once you select your nanny (see step 04). Note: 5 day/week nanny roles are in high demand. Depending on availability and location, a match may not always be possible. We are The Nannying Network, not the Cleaning Network, so we don't advertise for maids, cleaners or household help, and we don't advertise for live-in nannies or au pairs.

02

Let us do the hard work for you

Once we've reviewed your request, we send you a payment link for the advertising fee. This must be paid within 48 hours.

Once paid, we share your role across our network, mailing list and Instagram as a live role posting platform. Real time, local, and fast.

Each advertisement has a role reference number, a short number plus your suburb, that our nannies use when applying.

03

Application process

We review every application carefully and send you the profiles of nannies we think are a great match for your family. You'll get real time updates as suitable applicants come through.

Our nannies often apply for multiple roles, so acting quickly gives you the best chance of securing your preferred match. Selection is first come, first served.

04

Choose your nanny

Once you've made your selection, we send you a one time finder's fee link to secure your nanny. Contact details are only shared once this is paid. They remain available for other bookings until then.

From there, you connect directly with your babysitter or nanny and rebook as many times as you like. We don't take commission or ongoing fees. Unlike other platforms, we don't take a cut of nanny wages.

Want multiple contacts? You can pay for more than one candidate.

Babysitter finder's fee

  • Last minute (within 24 hrs)$50
  • One off babysitting$30
  • Multiple dates babysitting$70
  • Crèche / early learning businesses$150

Nanny finder's fee (ongoing)

  • 1 to 2 days/week$150

  • 4 days/week$250
  • 5 days/week$300

Why an advertising fee and a finder's fee?

The advertising fee covers the time we spend reviewing your request, crafting tailored content and promoting your role within our network to find the right match.

The finder's fee compensates for screening applicants and presenting you with the most suitable nannies. Once we hand over contact details, they're yours to book directly for all future needs. We don't take any commission from their work.

Rebook your babysitter or nanny as many times as you like, directly.

Affordable, on purpose

Why our fees stay low

Our fees stay low because we don't do the parts that sound helpful but mostly just push up the price. We don't personally interview or meet every nanny before we list them. That would mean hours on our end and, ultimately, a much higher fee passed on to you.

Instead, we collect and verify the mandatory documents (WWCC, police check, First Aid HLTAID012, references and experience) and put the full picture in your portal. You know your home and your minis best, so the final meet, reference calls and interview are yours to do.

We can't possibly meet every nanny in our network and know with 100% certainty who is right for your family, but we can make sure you have everything you need to make an informed choice. That keeps the cost down and keeps you in control.

05

Meeting your nanny

Before welcoming your nanny into your home, we recommend a phone call and a meet and greet. Their references, WWCC number and First Aid certificate information will be in the profile we send you. If you'd like extras like a police check or additional certificates, you can request these directly from your nanny.

  • Tell them about your family, your minis, routines and household rules.
  • Discuss expectations and what a typical day looks like.
  • Agree on the hourly rate and how they'd like to be paid.
  • Give them a short trial. A couple of hours with you nearby is a great way for everyone to get comfortable and make sure they're the right fit.

The best thing you can do to set your nanny up for success is give a transparent, honest description of your family and what you're looking for.

A note on how we operate

The Nannying Network is a referral and matching service, not a childcare agency. We do not conduct background checks on nannies. All information provided by nannies is passed on to you in full, and it is your responsibility as a parent to screen, interview and make your own informed decision about who you welcome into your home.

We're here to make the search easier, but the final call is always yours. Once we connect you, you manage the relationship directly with your nanny. Rebook them anytime, on your terms, with no additional fees.

Satisfaction guarantee

If the placement doesn't work out, contact us within one week of the start date to request a rematch. We'll search again at no extra charge, though a readvertising fee applies if the role details have changed. Please note we'll also contact the nanny.
