For nannies
Safety and trust are everything when a family opens their home. That is why we ask every nanny and babysitter to meet a clear set of mandatory requirements before joining our network.
Must have
You must be 18 years old or older to apply and accept roles through The Nannying Network. This is a non negotiable requirement for every babysitter and nanny on our platform.
All nannies and babysitters that apply must have a valid Australian Working With Children Check (WWCC).
A Working With Children Check (WWC) is essential for anyone working with minis, and it is a non negotiable requirement for all babysitters and nannies.
Having a current WWC not only ensures you are meeting legal requirements but it also builds trust with families. Without a WWC, you will not be eligible to apply for or accept roles through our platform.
Application fee: $107
Apply here →You must provide 2 Australian references from families or employers you have worked with directly. Great references help families feel confident welcoming you into their home.
You must consent to a National Police Check. This is a standard part of our verification process and gives families extra peace of mind.
Strongly recommend
These are not mandatory, but they make your profile stronger and help you stand out to families.
Having a valid National Police Check can significantly strengthen your application and improve your chances of securing work with families.
It shows that you have taken the extra step to ensure transparency and safety, which is a top priority for parents. Families are much more likely to trust and choose candidates who have already completed a police check, as it provides peace of mind.
Each NPC application costs $56
Apply through your preferred accredited provider.

The best way to connect and secure roles with families is experience with other families and wonderful references.
We recommend you have 2+ years experience working with minis.
Important:
You will not be able to apply for roles with minis under 12 months old without prior newborn or baby experience.
If you meet the mandatory requirements and you are passionate about supporting local families, we would love to hear from you. Applications are reviewed by our team and we are always searching for reliable, kind nannies to add to our network.
