There is not really a platform out there for people who want to start nannying or babysitting. We built this page for you. The coolest nannying crew in Australia is right here, and yes, we absolutely welcome new starters.
The vibe
You do not need to have worked for another agency. We care about your attitude, reliability and love for minis way more than a fancy resume.
Meet other nannies and babysitters in your area. Swap tips, cover each other, share role leads and build your own little village.
We are genuinely here to help you get started. From building your profile to understanding what families are looking for, we have your back.
The must haves
These are the basics. They keep everyone safe and help families trust you from day one. You can tick most of them off pretty quickly.
You must be at least 18 years old to apply and accept roles through The Nannying Network. No exceptions.
Every nanny and babysitter needs a current Australian Working With Children Check (WWCC). It is a legal must have and the fastest way to show families you are serious.
Apply for your WWCC here →We need two local references who can vouch for you. Family friends, neighbours, teachers, sports coaches, or anyone you have helped care for a mini all count.
You must consent to a National Police Check. It is quick, builds instant trust and helps you stand out when families are choosing their nanny.
Level up
Offer to babysit for a family friend, a cousin, a neighbour or someone from your school community. One evening turns into a reference, which turns into confidence, which turns into paid roles.
Once you have helped a family, ask them for a short written reference. Even a few sentences about how reliable and kind you are makes your profile stronger.
A current HLTAID012 First Aid certificate in an education and care setting makes you way more hireable. We have a 15% discount with Little Treasures First Aid and you can book with other nannies through our First Aid page.
Apply for casual babysitting or short term roles first. They are a great way to meet families, get real feedback and build your reputation without jumping into a full nanny schedule.
How it works
01
Fill out the application form and create your profile. Tell us about yourself, your experience and why you love caring for minis.
02
Upload or share your WWCC, references and police check consent. Do not worry if you are still waiting on a check, you can add it as soon as it arrives.
03
We review roles that come in and match them with nannies based on location, experience and availability. You will be notified when a good fit pops up.
04
Once a family chooses you, we share their contact details and you take it from there. Rebook directly, build relationships and grow your own client base.
No. Babysitting for family, helping at a school holiday program, coaching a sport or any caring experience counts. We care about real character, not a perfect resume.
We do not run formal training, but we share practical guidance, help you build a great profile and point you toward trusted partners like Little Treasures First Aid for your certification.
Absolutely. A lot of our nannies are students or people looking for flexible part time work. You choose which roles you apply for and set your own availability.
Perfect. Casual babysitting is one of the best ways to start. Many of our babysitters eventually pick up ongoing nanny roles once they feel ready.
