Looking for

Extra work around uni

"I want to connect with kids as well as help families. It is a safe environment and it is very rewarding."

She finished at Abbotsleigh in 2023 and is now in her second year of occupational therapy. She is already nannying, already working as a support worker, and still looking for extra hours because she genuinely likes the work. Sport, kids and the beach, in that order, on a good week.

Four years of nannying across ages two months to sixteen years, four years coaching kids sport, tutoring on the side, and experience working with children with disabilities. Northern Beaches based, but she spends most of her time in the city, so travel is not an issue.

For the parents

Why she does it

Your favourite part about the job?

Bonding with the kids. Watching them grow, learn and develop their little personalities. Knowing you are shaping a child's early life.

Every day is different, never a boring moment. You end up part of a family, even if you are not related, you are a trusted part of their world. And you get to be playful and creative, crafts, games, storytelling, adventure.

The perfect day

If you could plan the perfect day with the minis, what would it include?

A mix of fun, creativity and chill time. We would start with a morning nature walk or playground trip, followed by a messy art project or baking something simple.

After lunch and quiet time, maybe reading or puzzles, we would have a dance party, build a fort, and finish with a movie and popcorn picnic.

Trust, built slowly

What do you do to help a mini feel safe with you?

I always get down to their level, make eye contact and talk gently. I give them space to open up at their own pace.

And I stick to routines so they know what to expect. That consistency builds trust.

Why the network

What drew you to The Nannying Network?

I would love to get more opportunities through the network. It is a safe environment and very rewarding, and I want to connect with kids as well as help families.

Story time

The book she reaches for

Where The Wild Things Are was my favourite, something about the imagination and adventure. And yes, I love reading with kids. It is the best quiet bonding time and a great way to spark their creativity.

Dance floor

Go to dance party song?

Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake never fails, or Shake It Off by Taylor Swift. Something upbeat and silly where everyone can bust out their best moves.

Snack of choice

One snack forever?

Home made banana oat cookies. Every single time.
